Our Easter Reflections
10th Station: Luke 23:33–38, Jesus is Crucified.

“They crucified him…” With these three words Luke gives the reader the stark reality of how man treated the Son of God.

We are not given the explicit details that are described in the Old Testament’s foreseeing of this event. Jesus, our Passover lamb; in abject humiliation, naked, beaten, marred beyond recognition is hung on the Cross. There he takes upon himself the just punishment for our rebellion and sin.

Our forebears were banished from Eden and their access to the Tree of Life denied. Now, because of God’s salvation plan, we have access again to a “Tree” the Cross of Christ at the foot of which we have a choice to make.

Meant for death, the Cross, is redeemed by God’s action and again becomes a Tree of Life, open to all mankind; all who will humble themselves and recognise who Jesus is and what God has done for us with the atoning death of his Son.

We Read

The Bible is book that we live by. This book explains and presents to us the good news about Jesus Christ. The good news is oftentimes spoken of as the gospel. If you’re not too sure what that is then simply click here. The gospel revolutionises  lives. Inspiring us to live well as it displays Jesus Christ.

We Pray

Prayer is central for us as a church. We pray with the expectation that God both hears and answers the prayers of His people. Prayer happens in big and small group settings and we love hearing about the answers to prayer.

We Serve

Service is the usual outworking of the Christian life. We serve others since God in Christ has first served us in love and grace.  We expect our service then to be both towards the church and the larger community of Balloch, Inverness and the Highlands. So at the church you can expect to be warmly welcomed and loved.
